Losing Weight - OK! Are you ready to understand the difference between losing
weight and burning fat? You may or may not know this but you are
capable of losing 5 pounds a day! Sure you are. Of course this doesn't
make sense because if you weighed 200 pounds, then after 40 days, you
will vanish!
I had a friend that played football for the
University of Tulsa in the mid-90s. He would tell me stories about how
he would lose 5 pounds a day. He would wake up and weigh himself. 245
pounds. When he finished practice, he would weigh 240.
Of course I
wasn't that gullible. Any person in their right mind would know that
this was 'water' weight. Of course we are all capable of losing weight
every day, but most of us wish that it would stay off right?
Your body is a natural fat burning machine. It can burn its fat on its own while you are in your sleep. How does this happen?
When
you eat, your food is converted into a substance called glucose.
Glucose is the primary source of energy for your body. Think of it as
gasoline. Without it, your body can't run.
The cells of your body
(muscle cells, brain cells, etc.) has to have this glucose. But in
order for the glucose to enter your cells, there has to be a connection
made. To facilitate this, your body releases an enzyme called insulin.
This insulin is the "doorman" for your cells. It lets the glucose in,
and you then have energy.
Your cells take in the right amount of
fuel that they need. Any excess glucose is stored into your fat cells.
This is how you gain weight. Your body takes in more than it needs and
stores it as fat. Very simple right?
But your body is very
sophisticated. The stored fat is converted into free fatty acids. When
your cells need more food (i.e. energy), it burns these fatty acids
instead of you having to eat. So you shouldn't get tired. Your body
has created its own energy source.
But we know this doesn't
happen. Why? Insulin releases from your system at a slower rate. As
long as it is present in your body, you can't tap into your own fat
deposits to burn energy. So you have to eat more. This is why most
people can't lose weight naturally. You are constantly bathing in
insulin.
You can counteract this with a well balanced diet.
Eating at perfect times a day. Allowing your body to work on its own,
but most of us can't do that.
But there is good news! There is a way to tap into your own fat
cells. Allowing your body to lose weight naturally. Brandon Barclow is
the founder of the Barclow Health Group. He has helped many people
manage their weight naturally without skipping a meal.
